A primary keyword is the search term that most directly describes your product and that the greatest number of relevant shoppers use when looking for what you sell. It has the highest monthly search volume among the terms that accurately match your product, and it goes in your product title, ideally within the first 40 to 50 characters where it is most visible in search results and given the greatest algorithmic weight. Each listing has one primary keyword. The primary keyword defines the core of what your listing is about in Amazon's eyes. All the algorithm's other relevance assessments are made in context of this central term: your listing's conversion rate for this keyword, the sales velocity associated with it, and the click-through rate it generates all feed back into how strongly Amazon associates your listing with it. Secondary keywords are all the relevant search terms your listing should rank for beyond the primary keyword. The practical limit is not the number of keywords but the quality of coverage. Every secondary keyword added to your listing should be a term a real shopper would use when looking for your product.
