Why are my Amazon ads not getting impressions?
Amazon ads not getting impressions usually means the campaign has a bid, budget, or listing eligibility issue that is preventing Amazon from entering your ad in auctions. The most common causes are straightforward to diagnose once you know where to look. Before investigating bids or targeting, open your campaign in Amazon Seller Central and confirm the campaign is active, not paused or archived. Then confirm the ad group is active and that the individual ads within it are active and showing a green status. A campaign that appears to be running can still have individual ad groups or ads paused from a previous edit. Next, check the ASIN attached to the ad. A listing can be flagged as suppressed if it is missing required information such as a main image, valid category, or required attributes. If your listing is suppressed in the organic catalogue, your ads will not serve. Check the Listing Quality dashboard in Seller Central and resolve any suppression flags before troubleshooting further. If your listing is eligible and your campaign is active, the next most likely cause is a bid below the auction floor for your keywords or placements. Amazon's advertising console shows a suggested bid range for each keyword in your manual campaign. If your bid falls below the low end of that range, you will win very few auctions, often zero for competitive keywords. A daily budget that is too low can also produce an impression count that appears as zero for most of the day. If your budget is exhausted in the first hour of the day, your ads stop serving until midnight when the budget resets. The campaign may technically have generated a handful of impressions very early, but if you check mid-afternoon the counter looks like zero. Raise the daily budget temporarily and observe whether impressions begin to accumulate across the full day. In manual campaigns using exact match, your ads only enter auctions for searches that match your keyword precisely. If you have added very specific long-tail phrases with low monthly search volume, there may genuinely be very few auctions available each day. A keyword searched 200 times a month generates fewer than seven impressions per day on average, split across all the sellers bidding on it. At your market share of that auction, daily impressions may be zero or one. Temporarily add broad or phrase match versions of your exact-match keywords to widen the targeting pool and confirm impressions begin to accrue. Once you can see which search terms are triggering impressions, you have the data needed to decide which should be moved to exact match at a calibrated bid. Newly created campaigns take 24 to 72 hours before they begin generating impressions consistently. Amazon's systems need time to index the new ad, assess its relevance to the targeted keywords and begin entering it into auctions. If your campaign was created within the last two days and is showing zero impressions, this is often the explanation rather than a technical problem. Check back after 72 hours. If impressions have still not appeared by that point, the campaign has had sufficient time to index and the issue is likely one of the other causes covered above.
